Cancellation Policies for Your Listing

Managing reservations in the world of hospitality is all about balance. As a host, you want to provide flexibility to your guests while also ensuring the stability of your business. This is where cancellation policies come into play.

At Travent, we understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can lead to reservation cancellations. To strike the right balance between guest satisfaction and host protection, hosts can select from a range of cancellation policies for each of their listings.

Let's take a closer look at these policies, each designed to cater to different host preferences and needs. From 'Flexible' for those who prioritize guest convenience to 'Strict' for hosts who value stability, we offer a variety of options.

By understanding and choosing the right cancellation policy for your listing, you can ensure a seamless hosting experience for all parties involved. Let's dive deeper into the details of these policies and find the one that best suits your hosting style.

Flexible

Guests can cancel until 24 hours before check-in for a full refund, and you won’t be paid

If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid for each night they stay, plus 1 additional night

Moderate

Guests can cancel until 5 days before check-in for a full refund, and you won’t be paid

If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid for each night they stay, plus 1 additional night, plus 50% for all unspent nights

Firm

To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in

If they cancel between 7 and 30 days before check-in, you’ll be paid 50% for all nights

If they cancel less than 7 days before check-in, you’ll be paid 100% for all nights

Guests can also receive a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking, if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in

Strict

To receive a full refund, guests must cancel within 48 hours of booking, and the cancellation must occur at least 14 days before check-in

If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, you’ll be paid 50% for all nights

If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid 100% for all nights.

Host Cancellations

To ensure fairness and transparency for both hosts and guests, we have established a clear and comprehensive cancellation policy. When a host cancels a reservation before check-in, we prioritize the guest's experience by automatically providing a full refund. However, in cases where a host cancels 30 days or less prior to check-in, and the guest reaches out to us, we step in to assist the guest in finding comparable or better accommodations.

Cancellation fees

Our fee structure ensures fairness and prevents excessive charges. Travent will impose fees subject to a minimum cancellation fee of 200AED and a maximum cancellation fee of 1500. The fee is based on the reservation amount and when the reservation is canceled:

  • If the reservation is canceled 48 hours or less before check-in, or after check-in, the fee is 50% of the reservation amount for the nights not stayed

  • If the reservation is canceled more than 48 hours, and 30 days or less, before check-in, the fee is 25% of the reservation amount

  • If the reservation is canceled more than 30 days before check-in, the fee is 10% of the reservation amount

When calculating cancellation fees, the reservation amount includes the base rate but excludes taxes and guest fees. If the calculated cancellation fee is less than 200 AED, it will be adjusted up to 200 AED, and if the calculated fee is more than 1500 AED, it will be adjusted down to 1500 AED.

Cancellation fees are typically withheld from the next payout(s) to the Host as provided in the Payments Terms of Service. In addition to the fees and consequences set out in this Policy, Hosts who cancel, or are found responsible for a cancellation, will not receive a payout for that reservation.
